  12. I purchased an A1200 from someone here and when I opened it up and
  13. attached everything, the computer could not recognize the external IDE
  14. drive.  It pretended almost like there was no drive attached at all.  The
  15. drive itself spun-up correctly and there was plenty of power to it.  I even
  16. tried some of the original installation software that came with the drive, but
  17. even that said that there were no drives found.

  19. To me it sounds like there is a cable problem because I would assume even if the
  20. drive was bad that the Amiga/Software would come back with an error message of
  21. some sort.

  23. Any help/similar problems/solutions would be much appreciated.  I've had the
  24. case open a few times, but nothing seems to be out of place...I've detached 
  25. everything else from the system (expansion stuff, etc.) but nothing seems to
